Waste haulers were required to provide single-stream recycling collection to single-family residential customers and most restaurants/bars by September 15, 2011.

Multi-family residential customers (i.e. apartment complexes) will be provided single-stream recycling services by January 1, 2013.

Commercial businesses will be required to participate in a comprehensive recycling program no later than January 1, 2014.

The goal is to maximize the convenience of recycling and minimize the amount of trash disposed in Delaware. Recycling will reduce our disposal costs, keep raw materials in the manufacturing sector, create jobs, and promote sustainability.
